Video API for Embeded Videos

We have a series of videos integrated in our website but don't seem to have any way when doing this to detect video events such as play, complete, pause, video progress, etc. We would like to have this ability in order to integrate with analytics tracking on our website. Is it possible to add an API or something similar with these features in the future?
