Column Section Headline

With the grids, you can put a heading that sits at a decent space above the grids. Can this be done for the columns? Where you can have one heading that sits across all of the columns you have - the only way I have been able to do this, is if I put a compact section above the columns, and put the heading in that, but the heading is too far above the columns compared to the grids and does not look as good.
